“Prevention of Corporate Scandals: Perspectives and Effective Implementation”

Lecturer: Hashio Namamura, Representative Director of Harry & Co.

Westlaw Japan K.K. (head office located in Minato ward, Tokyo with Young Sung Ban serving as Representative Director) is holding a Premium Online Seminar titled “Prevention of Corporate Scandals: Perspectives and Effective Implementation” on August 25th, 2020 (Tuesday) jointly with Thomson Reuters.
Even with the recent establishment of various international standards such as ISO 37001 (Anti-bribery management systems) and ISO 19600 (Compliance management systems), corporate scandals have not disappeared.
In this seminar, by inviting Mr. Hashio Nakamura as a lecturer, who is a pioneer in the fields of corporate ethics and compliance, we will attempt to understand major causes of corporate scandals while categorizing the causes into factors relating to human qualities and organizational characteristics. Mr. Nakamura will approach and examine how to prevent those scandals from the perspectives of origins and behaviors of crimes committed by people and organizations. Then, he will confirm that it is necessary to improve the psychological security of employees in order to prevent corporate scandals, while referring, as examples, to specific measures taken by various companies. Further, the perspectives and effective implementation of corporate scandal prevention will be similarly examined from the viewpoint of the three major risk factors of fraud (opportunity, motive/pressure, and justification).
This is a great opportunity for everyone to be able to understand the current discourse and major points regarding this topic, so please don’t miss out. We really look forward to welcoming you.
